ALOYCE PAUL URASSA

Aloyce Paul Urassa

As a young health professional from Tanzania, with a focus on research, health diplomacy, and Global public health, Aloyce’s passion for malaria elimination has been fueled by personal experiences witnessing the devastating impact of the disease on vulnerable populations in the communities and at the family level seeing a younger brother missing school for weeks due hospital admission for malaria treatment. Aloyce has seen children lose their lives to this preventable and treatable disease, and pregnant women suffer from anemia as a result of malaria infection.

In pursuit to make a difference, Aloyce realizes the vital role of the Global Fund in the fight against malaria.

As he continues to work towards a malaria-free world, Aloyce is reminded of the importance of the Global Fund in supporting the most vulnerable communities and driving progress towards a future free from the burden of this deadly disease. In the words of Kofi Annan, "Health is a human right, and it is the responsibility of governments to ensure it as such. The Global Fund is an essential partner in this effort, working to ensure that no one is left behind in the fight against malaria."

“I stand to give my voice to Global Fund due to its commitment to supporting low- and middle-income countries in their efforts to prevent, diagnose and treat malaria, playing a critical role in saving millions of lives and advancing the goal of malaria elimination”
