GFAN is seeking a new group of people for the GFAN Speakers Bureau. These individuals will, as much as possible, represent the diversity of people who are affected by the 3 diseases: men and women of all ages, people from countries around the world and people representing those key populations and communities that are most affected.

In 2015, the GFAN Secretariat brought together 8 people to join our newly created Speakers Bureau – a group composed of people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, TB and/or malaria who have seen the impact of the Global Fund in their lives and can share their stories to assist in resource mobilization advocacy.

Since then, our speakers have attended numerous events hosted in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia-Pacific, including high-level meetings, Global Fund replenishment announcements, parliamentary briefings and ro...

Meet and hear from people who have seen and experienced the impact the Global Fund has on peoples’ lives.

What is the GFAN Speakers Bureau?

Our Speakers Bureau is a register of advocates who are committed to sharing the messages to fund the Global Fund, to create policy changes for positive enabling environments and to increase domestic investments in health and to encourage collective engagement in their advocacy to governments and decision-makers. The principle is that people who have seen the impact of the Global Fund in their lives are the most impactful spokespeople for the Global Fund. Each of our speakers are currently or have in the past accessed Global Fund-supported programs and are active advocates in their own communities for prevention, treatment and/or care for one or more of the three diseases. Global Fund Advocates Network (GFAN) is looking to create a GFAN Speakers Bureau composed of people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, TB and/or malaria. The principle is that people who have seen the impact of the Global Fund in their lives are the most impactful spokespeople for the Global Fund. The GFAN Speakers Bureau is envisioned as a constant non-campaign dependent group of speakers who are interested in and trained to be champions for Global Fund resource mobilization.

As GFAN members are constantly seeking opportunities to solidify and increase either domestic funding for HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria or donor funding to the Global Fund Secretariat, being able to call upon trained, impactful spokespeople is a key to the success of their advocacy.

The deadline to apply is Friday 3 April 2015 at 17:00 EST.
